The Dusty Farmer

The farmer drove the tractor across the bridge. The gurgling water ran down the stones. His heart was filled with happiness. There had been challenges, but resilience had served him and the land well.

He turned the tractor off and climbed down. One hand removed the hat from his head. The other wiped the sweat from his brow.

It was time to leave the land. A sea he had dreamt of for years had been calling to him.

He had purchased a small sailboat, a dream now come to life. Once again he would embark on a new adventure. A slow, small, smile brightened his face. Gratitude filled his heart. He looked up to the sky and quietly breathed out two words: “Thank you.”.

He turned, took one last look, and turned back again. Finally, he started his long journey to the sea.
